Recommendations For Effective Case Prep
- Practice with peers!
- Prepping with others (both as the interviewer and interviewee) is the most practical case interview preparation
- It's all about REPS
- Case interviewing is a skill that improves with time and practice
- We recommend 2-3 cases/week at a minimum, but feel free to scale up or down based on your schedule and intuition
- Be sure to practice different case types, as you never know what you're going to get the day-of
- Use winter break wisely!
- Winter break should be a time to recharge, but keep in mind that big tech interviews start right after we return from break!
- Depending on which companies you've applied to, it might be a good idea to continue meeting with your case prep group or continuing to case independently during the break.
- Don't be nervous!
- Create safe spaces for each other to say and do crazy things during your case interviews; creative thinking is rewarded in PM interviews!
- Show up to mock cases and your casing groups ready to contribute and test new ideas; and recognize that no one expects you to be great at it from the get go
- Be ready for a marathon, not a sprint!
- You will face highs and lows during your recruiting journey - it is inevitable! It is important to stay grounded, humble and optimistic. Help your peers whenever you can, but don't forget to check in on yourself and give yourself space as needed!
